I believe real stories have the power to move people, generate empathy, and offer us a deep sense of belonging.
Since working on my first award winning documentary in 2012, ("I Agree With Jennifer"), I realized that documentaries had the ability to enact real change in the world.
In 2017, I completed my Bachelors of Arts in Cinema with an emphasis in Documentaries from San Francisco State University.
While going to school I also worked as a freelance Videographer and Video Editor for multiple production companies in the Bay Area - editing and shooting branded content for clients in tech, weddings, and non profit industries.
Currently, I work as the the Video Production Specialist for Fistula Foundation - a non profit organization in San Jose treating with women who are living with the devastating birth injury called Obstetric Fistula. It's my joy to bring to life our stories across all areas of production - from conceptualization, to shooting and editing.
I also continue to shoot and edit projects under my business, MW Cinema and respond to video and photo inquires.
My professional goals are to work on a post-production team with other filmmakers who share my values for hard work, ethical filmmaking, and digital storytelling as a vehicle to enact change. I would like to refine my skills as an editor through collaboration and teamwork, and continuing to challenge myself.
I am also an advocate for the environment, and believe that spending more time outdoors is the best way to experience life. I enjoy landscape photography and outdoor and adventure videography.
